When in 2007 we knew about the Formula Student project at Silverstone, we clearly saw that this was the way to go to encourage young people to take an interest in engineering. The interest in electric mobility had not yet awakened, and drones and autonomous driving were pure fantasy.
After creating the first Formula Student team in Catalonia at the UPC in 2008, the founder of SEYED created the Formula Student Spain in 2010 and, subsequently, thanks to the German manufacturer ELMOTO, created the first university competition of exclusively electric motorcycles, in 2012, the Barcelona Smartmoto Challenge. This event, oriented to polite light urban electric motorcycles at the beginning, has had some editions in Moscow and Wroclaw, too. Today this competition is exclusively focus on off-road electric motorcycles.
As a result of the agreement between the managers of the Parcmotor circuit and the Spanish telecommunication company based in Barcelona, Cellnex, to turn the circuit into a connected and autonomous vehicle laboratory, it was considered opportune to put closer young talents and companies at the new technological hub, creating the Formula Student Andorra event.
After the successful experience of celebrating together, in 2018, Barcelona Smartmoto Challenge and Formula Student Andorra, we wanted to go further and we worked to create a technological week with the aim of motivating young students in the engineering field. Society is waiting for them.
So SEYED means a week in which you can participate, as team or as public, in one or more of the following university competitions:
- Barcelona Smartmoto Challenge
- Formula Student Andorra
- Barcelona Smartdrone Challenge
- Castelloli Smart Scooter Challenge
All during the third week of July, all around Castelloli, Campus Motor Anoia and Parcmotor, 45 km from Barcelona and 35 km from the beach
We wait for you.
